The Rec has come up with a great idea. A Summer Movie Tournament. I'm not a fan of basketball, but this is a tournament I can get in to. So here is my entry. My predictions. Early word on Spiderman 3 is not good (not that that usually has anything to do with a movie making money) but my money is on Pirates 3. If you want to get in on it, the deadline is May 3rd.
The Simpsons Movie will win, hands down, followed by Shrek the Third.
ReplyDeleteWho knows.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a slam dunk, but looking at it again, I could see it going a lot of different ways.
And I thought Titanic would be a monster flop. What the hell do I know?
Hmmm ... Piper I think you're in trouble with this one LOL
ReplyDeleteHey asterisk ... enter the contest then!!! Bring it on!!

this is an awesome idea and will definetly throw in when i get a bit more time.
ReplyDeleteThis bracket is legit and Pirates is going to take everything.
ReplyDeleteI think Spidey is up for a fall.
Spidey's early "fresh" rating on rotten tomatoes is as good as the last two, so I don't think it will suck all that bad. Also, the public ran to Pirates 2 for the same reason they did to the 2nd matrix movie–because the first one was out of no where and it was a lot of fun. Too bad the 2nd pirates movie was also a lot like the 2nd Matrix movie–a warmed over revisit of the first. I think Pirates 3 will open big, but not like 2. This one will go to Spiderman 3, because not only is the movie franchise one people trust, but because it has the most time to pull in cash before the waves of big summer movies start crashing in. My dark horse is Shrek 3. At least that's my sad theory...
ReplyDeletePiper, sorry man, I think Spidey takes it. Could be an upset, however with Fantastic 4 or Transformers. Jessica Alba....nuff said! Sign me up. So, how does a movie advance, is it based on sales?
