So let me get this straight. Detroit is complaining that someone has made it mandatory that we use less fuel and help the environment. They're complaining? I'm sorry, I think I just threw up in my mouth a bit.
And now that I have gotten that straight, allow me to get something else straight. This whole thing is coming from Arnold Schwarzenegger, the crowned King of excess. Don't get me wrong, what he is doing should be a model for the rest of the United States and by the way, I can't believe I'm saying that. This is the same guy that if an alien landed today and asked me to sum up the 80s, I would say nothing and instead I would unroll a Commando poster and probably would be shot dead with a laser beam.
If you crumpled up the 1980s (and the early part of the 90s) into little pieces and poured them out, they would slowly form the body of Arnold Schwarzenegger (it's true, I've done it). He was the definition of self-indulgence. Big guns in hand, big cigars in mouth. Arnold starred in the most expensive movie of the time with Terminator 2 at $100 Million in which his paycheck was in the form of a $15 Million dollar jet. He collected the biggest paycheck for Terminator 3 at close to $35 Million which cost $175 Million to make. He was the first private citizen to own a Humvee for god sakes.
So while I'm happy he's making progress in the environmental department and maybe getting back a bit of his cherry that he burst oh so many years ago, you won't mind if I take a couple of moments to shed my clothes and roll around in this big bed or Arnie irony that lays before me.
Thanks
In the name of all that is right and holy, please never ever post that picture of the Terminator again.
ReplyDeleteNor should you mention rolling nude in a bed full of Arnie irony.
ReplyDeleteYeah, thanks Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteI actually wrote the post before I found the photo. Forgot that that was my last line. Don't intend to suggest that I want to roll around with Arnie.
As a result, I'm switching out the photo.
I just want Arnold to get out of politics and make another Conan movie. That is all.
ReplyDeleteYou know, last time I checked (many years ago), Arnie actually had a collection of Hummers totalling six at the time. But they're all biodiesel... I'm glad someone's doing what he is, even if it DOES seem a little out of character.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking more because of the jarring mental image, but yeah... that old picture was creepy and needed to go anyway.
