Top 5 Tuesdays (T5T) Goes To Vegas
I'm in Las Vegas right now on business. I love the place. It's one gigantic tribute to waste. Money, electricity, taste, whatever. And you have to have one of those places. So anyway, I was thinking since it's Tuesday, give me your Top 5 movies that are shot all or partially in Vegas. If you need some help, go here.
- Ocean's Eleven (remake) - "They might as well call it Whitejack!"
- Casino - "Listen to me Anthony. I got your head in a fuckin' vise. I'll squash your head like a fuckin' grapefruit if you don't give me a name."
- Swingers - "Oh Mikey you don't want all that "Pirates Of The Caribbean" horseshit, or the "Rock and Roll Grunge Tip". Guys like you and me gotta kick it here, old school."
- Lost In America - "As the boldest experiment in advertising history, you give us our money back."
- Go - "Just so we're clear, you stole a car, shot a bouncer, and had sex with two women?"
Even if you don't give me your list, tell me what you think of the Top 5 Tuesdays series. Keep it or dump it? Be honest.

Ok, I'll start.
1. Leaving Las Vegas. What happened to Elizabeth Shue?
2. Very Bad Things. Bachelor parties in Vegas are indeed very bad. I know from experience.
3. Honeymoon in Vegas.
4. National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation. Don't know why, but I love this movie. Maybe because it features Wayne Newton.
5. Casino. The cornfield scene where Pesci's head is used for batting practice is awesome. A great demise.
KEEP IT...
Casino and Swingers are up there on mine. Oceans might be in the top 5 but definitely beneath Casino and Swingers. I like Fear and Loathing as well even though it is virtually pointless.
Keep it up Piper, please keep it up!
1. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Not a favorite but its all Vegas.
2. Oh God you devil - I just saw this a few weeks ago. How bout that fancy room the Bobby Shelton stays in?
3. Over the Top - Lincoln Hawk goes to Vegas to win the National Arm Wrestling title and his son back. Of course Kenny Loggins does it again with another amazing soundtrack.
4. Austin Powers - I admit it, i like the movie.
5. Memento - Good movie by Chris Nolan.
I really wanted to put Pink Cadillac as my #1. I was so disappointed when I realized the scenes take place in Reno, NV not Vegas.
Definitely keep it, Piper.
I don't know if I can come up with five, but here are a couple:
1. Hard Eight - I think technically it's Reno or something, but gimme a break.
2. Vegas Vacation - Am I the only one who like this movie? I guess not!
3. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - You can't go wrong with Hunter S. Thompson.
Hard Eight is Vegas baby.
Fear And Loathing is classic also.
Leaving Las Vegas is not only a great Vegas movie, it's a great movie, period.
Nicholas Cage. Is there anybody who saw this movie who didn't believe he was drunk in real life?
The scene where he needs a few stiff drinks in order to sign the check that will net him many more drinks is masterful.
Shue and Cage. It's a doomed romance I cherish.
