New District 9 Trailer

Hey Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp. Don't fuck with me, okay. Seriously. This trailer for District 9 looks really good. I mean, really good. And it makes me want to see the movie really bad because I've been longing for a really good sci-fi movie for a long time. But if this is going to be another one of those "hey, lets put all the cool shit in the trailer to make the film look really good but in truth those scenes in the trailer are really the best part of the movie which means the movie really blows but it's okay because we're going to market the shit out of it and we will have made all our money in the first couple of weekends before bad word of mouth really screws us" scenarios, then just tell me now. Just put me out of my misery and let me move on to the Fall. Just don't tease me into thinking this is going to be really cool with your anti-alien poster campaign and this trailer. Just don't do it, alright? Seriously.

It's really hard to not steal every D9 poster I see. If this movie sucks, I'll take to burning them instead.

If this movie sucks, I might burn down the theater.

AKA: bird flu

I hope they make a TV show out of it like they did with Alien Nation.

I want to have sex with this movie.

Jason,

Yeah, because that TV show was awesome for that... what was it... half a season... it ran?

Emily,

Don't do it. It's the kind of sex where you're embarrassed the next morning. And this trailer doesn't even have the courtesy to scramble a few eggs afterwards.

Don't you tell me what to do! Ours is a forever love!

Yeah, the thing that worries me is that the trailer presents it in this documentary style that makes it look (le gasp!) original, but then there are these matters of action which makes me think it might turn into a stupid action alien fighting extravaganza.

In other words, I feel your pain.

This is a solid science-fiction film. It's not as earth shatteringly awesome as all the Net buzz would have you believe. The best way to view this film is without knowing anything about it. Truly, it is best going into this completely blind. If you love watching something with an original spin on things, I really think this film has what you want.
