"He would scream out, "Surrender Dorothy!" That's all! Just "Surrender Dorothy!"

My favorite Scorsese movie. Its atmosphere is just amazing.

Ed,

Good call on the atmosphere. It's what makes this film so strong.

And it may not be my favorite, but it would be in the top 3 for me.

This and King of Comedy are two Scorsese gems that too often get overlooked.

Yeah, I love King of Comedy, too. Rupert Pupkin is a classic character. Scorsese's small, seemingly modest films often wind up being among his best, even if they tend to be overshadowed in his filmography. It's been years since I saw the much-maligned Bringing Out the Dead, so I can't comment on it too thoroughly, but I remember liking it at the time and I suspect that if I saw it again now I'd group it in with these films as well.

Everyone passes over the fact that Scorsese has a great sense of humor.

I haven't seen Bringing Out the Dead for quite a while. I need to revisit it as well.
